Soundbar or party speaker?
A soundbar goes with your TV and mainly makes dialogue easier to understand, by far the most common complaint about TV sound. A party speaker is portable and has a rechargeable battery, LED lighting and usually a microphone input for karaoke.
How much power?
As a guideline:
- 100 watts: room, patio, small gathering
- 220 to 400 watts: garden party, large living room
- 500 watts and above: large space or outdoors with lots of people, these models have wheels
Connecting to your TV
HDMI ARC is the best option: one cable, and you control the volume with your TV remote. Optical or TOSLINK also works well. Bluetooth is handy for music.

Does karaoke work with any microphone?
The included microphone works straight away. Other microphones work if they have a 6.3 mm jack.
