Return deals: white goods and electronics with full warranty
A return deal is an item that a previous customer sent back within the cooling-off period, which we have checked and are selling again at a lower price. You get the same two years' warranty on it as on a new item.
On this page we explain exactly what you are buying, how a return deal differs from refurbished or second-hand, and what to look out for.
Why do return deals exist?
Anyone who buys online has a 30-day cooling-off period. That means items come back: the washing machine turned out to be just too wide for the recess, the television was bigger than expected, or someone simply changed their mind.
Such an item has not become any less good as a result. But it can no longer be sold as new, because the packaging has been opened. Instead of writing it off, we sell it as a return deal at a lower price.
What condition is a return deal in?
Every returned item is checked before it goes back on sale. What you can expect:
- The item is fully working technically
- The packaging may be damaged
- There may be light signs of use, for example a small scratch on the housing
- All supplied parts are included, such as the remote control, feet and manual
If there is anything specific to note about the condition of an individual item, we state it on the product page itself.
Return deal, refurbished or second-hand
These three are often confused, yet the difference is big.
Return deal. An item that was sent back within the cooling-off period. It has never been used for long and nothing has been repaired. At Fodor you get two years' warranty on it, exactly as on a new item.
Refurbished. A used item that has been inspected, often with parts replaced or repaired. Its period of use is unknown and the warranty period is usually shorter, typically six to twelve months.
Second-hand. A private sale, for example via Marktplaats. No warranty, no right of return, and no recourse if the appliance breaks down after two weeks.
Can you trust Fodor with a return deal?
Fodor b.v. is a registered Dutch company from Rotterdam, KvK 82740739. On bol.com, Fodor has a seller rating of 8.6 out of 10 from 2,020 reviews. Of the reviews from the past three months, 96.2% were positive. The sub-scores: delivery 9.3, product information 9.0, contact with the seller 8.6 and delivery time 7.9. Source: bol.com, checked on 14 September 2026.
A return deal comes with the same two years' warranty and the same 30-day cooling-off period as a new item. So you take no extra risk compared with a regular order.
What you save
The price difference varies per item and depends on the condition of the packaging and the number of units available. On the return deals page you can see the current price next to the regular price for each item.
Because these are returned items, stock per model is limited and changes daily. If a model is sold out, it only comes back when another unit is returned.
Frequently asked questions about return deals
Do I really get the same warranty as on a new item?
Yes. All our items come with two years' warranty, and return deals are fully covered by it. The legal guarantee also applies.
Can I send a return deal back myself?
Yes. You have the same 30-day cooling-off period as with a new item.
Has a return deal been used?
Usually barely. These are items that were returned within the cooling-off period. Often the appliance has only been unpacked and connected, sometimes not even that.
What if the appliance turns out to be faulty after all?
Then it is covered by the warranty. Contact us on +31 85 070 37 06 or at hello@fodor.nl with your order number and the serial number. The repair is handled by our dedicated service centre in Rotterdam.
Does it come with the original packaging?
Usually yes, but it may be damaged. The item is always shipped well protected, even if the original box can no longer be used.
How quickly will a return deal arrive?
Just as quickly as a new item. If you order before 21:00 on a working day, your order will arrive within 24 hours.
Why isn't my model listed?
Return deals depend on what is sent back. There is no fixed stock. Check the return deals page regularly, as the range changes daily.
Who is a return deal a good fit for?
A return deal is worthwhile if you are looking for an appliance for a second home, a student room, a rental property or a utility room, and you don't mind a small scratch on the side. Or simply if you want the same appliance as new, but cheaper, without compromising on warranty.
If you are looking for something where appearance does matter, such as a television that will take centre stage in the living room, consider whether the price difference is worth the risk of a sign of use.
