A belt drive instead of a chain: no chain grease and little maintenance. The BOHLT Rebel is an electric fat bike on 20 inch tyres with a Gates belt drive and a removable 627 Wh battery. According to the manufacturer's specifications, you can ride up to 80 kilometres on a charge, with pedal assistance up to 25 km/h and a maximum load of 150 kg.
Riding and assistance
The 250 W motor assists up to 25 km/h and has 5 levels. The drive runs on a Gates belt instead of a chain: you never need to lubricate the belt, it leaves no grease marks on your trousers and it runs quietly. You ride on a single gear. The wide fat tyres give plenty of grip on sand, grass and wet brick paving.
Battery and charging
The battery delivers 36 volts at 17.4 Ah, 627 Wh in total. With the battery key you take the pack out of the frame and charge it indoors while the bike stays in the shed or bike storage. That way you don't need a power socket where you park, and you charge at room temperature. A full charge takes about 7 hours.
Brakes and suspension
Hydraulic disc brakes need little hand force and keep their bite point, even downhill and with luggage. The suspension front fork absorbs kerbs and potholes. Front and rear lights are included.
Frame and load
The aluminium frame is built as one piece, without a hinge, and carries up to 150 kg. That leaves room for a well-built rider plus luggage and keeps the bike rigid on the road. The bike itself weighs 30.5 kg including the battery.
