6.5 kg, so you can hang 4K on the wall by yourself. The Salora FOD43UV is a 43 inch 4K Ultra HD smart TV with HDR10, a response time of 6.5 ms and a 9.1 cm slim cabinet. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are both built in.

Picture

4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160) on a Direct-LED panel, 60 Hz, with HDR10. Brightness 230 cd/m², contrast 3000:1 and a viewing angle of 178 degrees. The border around the screen is minimal, so the picture runs almost right up to the edge. At 6.5 ms, fast motion stays sharp.

Apps and controls

The TV runs on VIDAA. This system starts up quickly and works without an account. Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ and NPO Start come preinstalled, with direct buttons on the remote control. You can get more apps from the VIDAA app store. Via Bluetooth you can pair wireless headphones or a soundbar.

Tuners and connections

DVB-C for cable, DVB-T2 for terrestrial and DVB-S2 for satellite: all three are built in. Your provider's smartcard goes into the CI+ 1.3 slot. You also get 3x HDMI 2.0 with ARC and HDCP, 2x USB 2.0, Ethernet, an optical digital audio output and a headphone output.

Mounting and placement

The cabinet is 97 cm wide, 56.3 cm high and 9.1 cm deep, with a weight of 6.5 kg. VESA 100 x 100 mm, so a wall bracket with that hole pattern will fit. A centre stand is included in the box, so a narrow TV unit is all you need. The packaging measures 106.0 x 62.5 x 12.6 cm and weighs 8.5 kg.

Frequently asked questions

Can I mount it on the wall?
Yes. VESA 100 x 100 mm and 6.5 kg. Choose a wall bracket that supports VESA 100 x 100 mm and at least 6.5 kg.

Do I need a satellite receiver?
The DVB-S2-compatible tuner is built in, so you connect the satellite dish cable directly to the TV.

Can I connect a soundbar or headphones?
Yes. Wirelessly via Bluetooth, or with a cable via HDMI ARC, the optical output or the headphone output.

How do I get the picture from my phone onto the TV?
With an HDMI cable, or you open the app directly on the TV. Sound can also go wirelessly via Bluetooth.

Can I game on it?
Yes. With HDMI 2.0 and a 6.5 ms response time, a PS5 or Xbox Series X plays in 4K. The panel runs at 60 Hz.

What is included?
The stand, the remote control, 2x AAA batteries, the cables and the user manual.

What is the recommended viewing distance?
Allow for 1.3 to 2.2 metres. With 4K Ultra HD you can sit close without seeing the pixel structure: 1.2 to 2.0 times the screen diagonal of 109.2 cm. That lower limit is the THX guideline for a viewing angle of 40 degrees; the SMPTE guideline of 30 degrees works out at about 1.6 times the diagonal, right in the middle of that range.
